Showcasing innovation
The first year of the first ever institution-wide degree show in our new building was, by and large, a successful event, well received by guests and the participating students.
There was tangible buzz around the building with strong work on show. Ravensbourne2011 in pictures:

Adobe helps Ravensbourne stay ahead
We believe that technology literacy is vital to improving student success, not only in degrees but in employment. As a result, we have now signed a licensing deal with technology giant, Adobe, which will grant staff and students unlimited use to Adobe’s industry-standard software.
The Adobe Education Enterprise License Agreement will enhance student learning (both in the home and on campus), streamline collaboration and develop essential digital communication skills.
We are the only HEI in the UK at this time to be participating in this exciting scheme. |

In June London Mayoral candidate Ken Livingstone visited Ravensbourne to talk to students as part of his Tell Ken tour of the London Boroughs. In a lively discussion Ravensbourne students quizzed him on issues ranging from tuition fees, transport and support for the creative industries.
In July John Hayes MP, Minister for Business, Innovation and Skills paid a visit to learn more about our building and our approach to vocational learning based on industrial practice. Clearly impressed and with strong local connections, Mr Hayes has asked Ravensbourne to convene a stakeholder workshop on vocational education in the autumn.

Norway tragedy
Ravensbourne has strong networks in Scandinavia, recruiting many students from Norway in particular each year. In the light of the recent terrible acts of violence that were committed in Oslo and on the island of Utoeya, we have sent a message of condolence – on behalf of the entire Ravensbourne community – to our Norwegian friends, colleagues and students. |
